In lieu of traditional "braces", our office offers orthodontic care utilizing "clear aligners". These are transparent trays that are worn over the teeth in order to perform tooth movements. This treatment often requires the placement of attachments to the teeth (plastic filling material) which are removed upon the completion of treatment, along with minor reshaping of teeth to create space.

There are many benefits to clear aligner therapy in comparison to traditional braces; they are more aesthetic to wear, they can be removed to eat and to brush your teeth or if you have a presentation or meeting and they are easy to keep clean.

The main drawback is that you must wear them at least 22 hours a day in order for them to be effective. 

​

Even though clear aligners can be used quite successfully to treat even the most complicated of orthodontic cases, we only provide this service if minor adjustments in tooth position are required for the front teeth (Class I occlusions with crowding). More complicated treatments (Class II or Class III occlusions) will be referred to an orthodontic specialist. It is in your best interests!!!

If we do find that your treatment is out of our scope of practice, we can easily forward your consultation records to the orthodontist and facilitate the referral process.
